The City of Middletown has begun the process of updating its Middletown Historic Preservation Plan (MHPP). Adopted in 1980 as “a framework under which any variety of needs and interests involving historic preservation can fit into some course of action,” this plan “provides guidance and direction to the interest of preserving the heritage of Middletown.”
As part of this effort, The City will host a public outreach session on Tuesday, May 23rd at 6:00pm in the City Council Chambers. Middletown City Planner James Metz has invited local stakeholders, including PRISM officers and South Main residents, to provide feedback on a draft outline for the new MHHP at this special session. While all South Main residents can attend the special session, Gabe Schoenlein will represent PRISM and will be requesting input from South Main residents leading up to the special session. South Main residents are encouraged to review the existing MHHP and the draft outline for the new MHHP (see documents postd below) and reach out to Gabe with input using the contact info below.
